Couples Therapy
Lots of things can get in the way of a healthy, intimate, vibrant relationship. Those of us who have experienced a long-term relationship know that fairy tales typically end right at the point where true relationship work would begin...at commitment. We never get to see what Cinderella and Prince Charming fight about 4 years and 2 kids later...Or perhaps, it's Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty trying to navigate a less traditional relationship with all the stressors and complexities that being non-traditional bring. The truth is that relationships are built on trust, hard work, emotional attunement, forgiveness...none of which we ever see in those fairy tale relationships!
There is no "right" way to be a couple; but figuring out your unique couple identity is crucial to its satisfaction. We are trained in the use of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT)and use this modality to increase connection and satisfaction in your relationship in numerous ways, including (but not limited to):
contemplating and defining commitment
developing or rebuilding trust
improving communication and decreasing misunderstandings
balancing emotional attunement, childcare and household tasks
creating space for intimate connection within busy work schedules

repairing betrayals, affairs
